In Chicago, Sharkula needs little introduction. He is a street fixture and hip-hop ambassador who self-promotes and hawks his wares, talking to everyone who will lend him an ear. He is a regular visitor to college radio shows and cable access television. His eccentricities capture the imagination: it seems that a new documentary is made about him with every new class of Columbia College film students. His musical output is prodigious, collaborating with just about anyone who will provide him a beat, from beatboxing street kids to experimental artists to Gareth Jones.

Dirty Caviar was recorded in May of 2005 - tracks were built by the electronic artist iGod and Sharkula came to the studio everyday for a week to unleash the workings of his mind. In spite of the enthusiasm of all parties concerned, one delay followed another while other projects and commitments took precedence until the project slipped into limbo. Early versions of "Anti Dookie Pretzel Deluxe Remixer" appeared on many mixtape CD-Rs sold hand-to-hand by Sharkula in the streets of Chicago, but the full project dropped off the map until this special 10th anniversary release.

Sharkula was on Time Out Chicago's 2013 list of most distinctly Chicago celebrities and has been the runner-up on the Chicago Reader's best street character list for two of the last four years. UPDATE: The Chicago Reader just selected Sharkula Street Character of the Year 2015!
